The night was still. Not a sounds was made except the occasional hoot of and owl, the chirp of a cricket. Stars might have been out but dark, imposing clouds covered any source of light that might have been. The dark kings land was obscoured in complete darkness.
But that didn't stop the dark vixen. Her dark dappled coat might have glimmered if there was moonlight. She steadily placed one hoof before the other. Her dial was held low, but not in submission, defeat or weariness. It was simply the fawns style. Her long dark silver locks of mane hung along her neck. Her tail twitching from time to time.
Suddenly she stopped, placed on high ground. As if on cue the clouds parted momentarly and let a ray of moonshine to alight the mares fair build. She reared onto her back legs, a shrill whinny ripping into the night, startling all silent life from where they slept. The night was alive with fearful cries of other animals. The fawn landed lightly back onto earth. Her dark eyes glittered and then the moonlight was gone.
This was Moonlight Threat.

A stallion's thin nares caught the scent of the new equine. Pillars carried him quickly toward the vixen. His delicate-looking hooves squished lightly in the boggy loam, muscles belying (sp?) his stregnth despite his skinny frame. His light coat looked washed out and colorless in the new moon, which pleased him. He loathed the glittering sheen it held in sunlight. The b*tch's whinny whipped through the night, stirring the animals who lived on the dark king's terra. The brute changed his course a little as the moonlight slipped through the clouds and illuminated the newcomer. Holding his head up high, he slowed and walked straight at the newcomer. His pelt shimmered, once, as the slit of light passed over his body. Then it was gone, and the night was dark once again. "Who are you?" The three innocent words hissed through the night like an arrow cloaked in darkness, speeding toward its target. His dark eyes searched the shadows, trying to see the vixen's face.

Her audits swivled and her dial turned when her heard him approach. She watched in silence as he made his way through the damp terra. Her daggers shifted their postition so she faced him. She heard his words, and for a moment did not speak. "That question is not a simple one. An equine is more then their name." She rasped. Her voice seemed calm, but they were spoken with quiet wariness. "But for now, that is all you will get from me. My name is Moonlight Threat."

((i had a nice post but then i accidentally closed the window XD))
The brute surveyed Moonlight Threat through guarded eyes. She spoke wisdom. "No, it is not all we are, is it?" His voice, usually cold and icy and unfeeling, was merely calm and cool. It was unemotional and distant, as though the words came from the mouth of a robot. "And my name," he continued. "Which is all I'll tell you," he interrupted himself. "Is Fire of the Clouds." He said no more. His air of command did not lessen as his eyes searched hers for some hint of her intentions.

((Lol.)) Her eyes betrayed nothing to the dark king. Their depths were as dark as ever. He may have held the highest rank in all the dark kingdom but she had little respect for any but those who earned it in her eyes. "Greetings, Fire of the Clouds." she rather hissed. Her whipcord lashed needlessly at her flank. She paused a moment, then went on. "I come here in what you might call peace. I'm no threat to you now."

Fire nodded. "So long as you come in peace you will not be harmed on my terra," he aknowledged. Kind as the words were, they had an icy air to them that would make anyone shiver. His eyes, though, were icier, cold and hard as a glacier. If you could melt them, he might give in to you, but glaciers take a lot to melt them.
((gawd, icky post))

She nodded. Her audits flicked as she listened to the sounds of the night. "So is that an ivitation to your herd?" she asked with a slight chuckle.
((That was an even worser post!))

Fire appraised her with guarded eyes. "I suppose," he replied delicately. His formerly stiff position relaxed a little. Now that she was officially in his herd, he could command her. Not that he would do anything, he wasn't that kind of a guy. But if she was to become violent he could banish her or something.

She didn't miss the way he slightly relaxed. In contrast, her shoulders were tense. She hated being under anothers command. But it wasn't like she could stay elsewhere now was it. But this stag was mistaken if he thought he could control her easily. She was a free spirit, bound only by gravity. She would go where she wanted, do what she pleased. Yes, that was Threat for you. It was true that one was more then her name. Threat was much, much more then that. ooc|| Gawl, sorry I didn't give you much to work with... Under pressure. My dog might have to be put down.

(( it's okay, i don't blame you one bit. but the pic is nice!)) Fire stiffened again at Threat's obvious tension. He wasn't one to let down his guard, and he berated himself for the slip. Glancing around, he thought desperately for some topic of conversation. "So," he began lamely.

((Thanx!)) At his lame attept, the mare chuckled, and the air of tension lessened slightly. She rather found the stags lack of muse for conversation funny. She also hadn't missed that he was still on guard about her. Even though he didn't need be. Or maybe he did. She was upredictable. Even to herself sometimes.

If Moonlight Threat was unpredictable, then Fire of the Clouds was totally out of control. Sometimes he even showed pity--though that was very rare. So rare, in fact, that he almost forgot he ever was anything but merciless.

Threat never showed pity. Oh, she would pretend pity, yes. She would do just about anything to get wanted she wanted done, done. There were some who's heart was bottomless. He rheart however... Wait. What heart?

His heart -- yes, it did exist! -- was tiny, so small it could only be seen, much less opened, by one he had met so far. She was dead, now, long since dead. She was beautiful, yet icy as a glacier. Her image showed in his mind's eye, alluring and distant. Clearing his throat, he said, "I believe two others may be joining us, though I may be wrong."

She tossed her dappled head. "Is that so?" she said. "And I was enjoying my personal space. Well, I suppose it wasn't right of me to assume I would be your only member for long. After all, you are the dark king. There must be loads of mares trying to win you over to be queen." She flicked her whipcord in annoyance at thought of softhearted mares like that. they made her want to retch. "Have fun with that!" she said harshly.
